There is a virus that’s being spread out to all computers with Yahoo Messenger installed.

I’ve noticed that in the past few days, I’ve been getting instant messages (IM) from people on my friends list that looks something like this:

yahoo-messenger-virus

One time I got this IM from a friend, who is supposed to be in the office, where, I believe, there is no meebo* access. So I texted him and asked him if he’s online on Yahoo Messenger and he answered “No? Are you sure that was me?”

The virus seems to automatically log on Yahoo Messenger accounts on computers that are infected and sends this message to all of the people on the account’s friends list.

Beware!

Update:

- (Mar-01-2009) A reader gave me this link that gives information about this virus from the CA Security system website: http://community.ca.com/blogs/securityadvisor/archive/2009/02/26/spim-preys-on-obesity.aspx

hindi lang po sa YM nangyayari ang ganyan. Kahit sa Windows Messenger. I am using the WML 8.5 V and i receive those kinds of messages. Not weight loss but links na wala namang patutunguhan.

Katabi ko yong friend ko at nagchichikahan kami, then i received an IM from her. Tawa kami kasi di naman sya naka sign in sa IM nya…

    weird diba?

sana nga ma resolve na to…

We don’t have specific information about that but there are a lot of techie people out there who have nothing to do. Sometimes they use these tactics to earn money by stealing information from users. TRIVIA: about 400 new viruses/spyware are created everyday!

The most effective way for Losing Weight is exercise. You just do some cardio workout everyday like jogging and running for miles. That would effectively burn the fats in your body.

I prefer not to click those kind of links. Especially if it’s not reliable. My friend have a virus when a friend of her too send those links. And she just opened it. I’m so aware of this virus. I do not open links without any explanation from those who send it.
