Based on statistics, the search for online videos has been reigning the search engine top lists for a long period of time now. In fact, according to Mikes-Marketing-Tools.com, the keyword that’s most searched is the word “redtube,” referring to RedTube.com, a famous porn counterpart of Youtube.

I researched a bit and found out that the proprietor of online videos is Utube. It was after that when YouTube came. Then when YouTube started to make a name, here came RedTube. RedTube offers a wide variety of online videos, just like YouTube, but for adults only. Redtube is mostly concentrated on sponsor videos, but amateur videos are starting to get uploaded. If you want to know more about RedTube and find out what the majority of online searchers are looking for, click on this Redtube link.

Just a few clicks a way is the word “myspace,” referring to the biggest social network on the internet, MySpace.com, which is also rich in music videos and videos uploaded by users. MySpace is one of the websites that started non-dating-site online social network. Shortly after, Friendster (Friendster.com) came but it was not able to catch upto the hype that Myspace started. Until now, a lot of online socialization sites are popping up like mushrooms all over the world, but MySpace maintains the glory of being number 1.

Third place is the word “google,” which is basically the place to search for ANYTHING. Google is what basically made americans not know how to use the address bar and be so used to using the search bar to type in whatever to look for something. I remember the famous phrase that if you do not know something, GOOGLE it! That can’t apply to yahoo search or MSN search. Just imagine saying Yahoo it! or MSN it! errr…

Fourth place is the search for “funny videos.” Well, with the problems that the world is facing nowadays, I think people have been looking for a reason to laugh – through videos. At fifth place is the ever-famous YouTube – the biggest wholesome online video site. (click here for instructions on how to download youtube videos).

Not very far behind is the search for the word “youporn”, commonly misspelled as “youpron”, which in fact is also in the top 10 list. “youporn” refers to the very first porn version of YouTube, YouPorn.com. Part of the top 50 is the word “xtube”, referring to another porn version of YouTube, which is XTube.com. Surprising? I’m not surprised, to tell you honestly.

The internet has really changed the definition of life and entertainment in a lot of ways. It has caused us to rely on computers and internet for almost anything – music, videos, paying bills, playing games, news.

The abundance of search for videos is one thing I cannot really make a conclusion on in terms of what it means, statistically or psychologically. But the fact that the top search keyword is “redtube” gives me an idea of something. Hehehe. Well, the meaning is obvious.
